About Us

Kids Nest is a more than a decade old institution inculcating values and consistent results in the town of Ponda. Its birth in the 2001 was not a mere accident nor a commercial requirement but years  of  study  among the  experts  in  the  educational  field;  professionals, teachers, sportsmen  and  social  workers. We have attained a distinction of introducing computers at the young age at the time of establishment. It is really due to the keen  interest  of  parents  in the  vicinity; we could  grow  from  mere  15 students  to more than 500 student’s  school  today.

Kid’s  Nest was  inaugurated  on 17th June 2001 at  the  hands  of  Ex. Chief  minister  of  Goa,  Shri  Ravi S. Naik  and  in  the  presence of Ex. Minister Mr. Dayanand Mandrekar.

In the year 2001 when we established this institution it was the first school in Ponda and probably in Goa to introduce computer at Nursery level. It was noted that about 99% of the students developed and expressed keen interest in computers. In 2002 we introduce classical dance for girls.

Thereafter in 2003 we started Day care centre (crèche) for children of working parents.

In 2004 we started “Kid’s Library” with the aim of   developing the reading habits among the kids right from the age of 3 years. It will help the stimulation of thinking process of the children to increase their involvement   and participation in the learning process. The programme in the “Kid’s Library” is designed to develop key language, reading listening skills, social and emotional skills etc.

In 2005 we undertook Medical Assessment with the intention of regular routine check-up of every child. In most of the cases, parents take their kids to doctor only when they are sick. Not much emphasis is given to routine E.N.T. and Dental check-up of the child. Kid’s Nest is very much conscious of the importance of this type of check-up.

We in India have rich ancient culture and view to preserve the same; we accepted it and made at our sincere efforts to inculcate in our kids. We are making it a point to keep all our students well informed about our rich culture and tradition. The significance of Indian culture reflects in our festivals. We at Kid’s Nest & Vidhya Vruddhi Primary School celebrates most of the Indian festivals which includes Ganesh Chaturthi, Janmashtami, Saraswati Pujan, Diwali, Id., Christmas, Shivajayanti, Holi, Makarsankranti-Kite festival. Along with the festivals we celebrate following national days : 26th January, 15th Aug Independence Day, 2nd Oct Gandhi Jayanti, 19 Dec Liberation Day. We also celebrate 14 Nov Children’s Day & 5th September Teacher’s Day.
